What is the TVL Spotlight?
As a graduate (Linn High 2006) and long-time follower of the Twin Valley League, I saw many fantastic athletes come and go through that may have been overlooked or missed out on completely because of a lack of mainstream coverage. In 2018, I wanted to change the stigma and spectrum of how small school athletes are perceived and the TVL Spotlight was born.
My Story
Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to replace or claim that I am better than any other radio station, newspaper or publication in the area. It's quite the opposite, honestly as it pertains to media in Northeast Kansas I've probably worked for nearly all of them. When I was 16, I was fortunate to be taken under the wing of the sports staff at KCLY in Clay Center and I have been in the field of journalism now for nearly 20 years. Sports editor for the Washington, County News, a co-op with Kanzaland radio in Seneca, as well as KNCK in Concordia and not 1 but 2 stints at KNDY in Marysville.
But then one day I decided it was time to give my favorite area the notoriety it deserved and it's been a whirlwind ever since.
From day 1 I've never wanted to be anything but "The sports guy" and through the generosity, love and care you have all showed me, I have lived my dream.
