As practices begin, fans are starting to gear up to cheer on our favorite but athletes in the TVL aren't just sitting around waiting for the season to begin. They have been busy all summer long getting ready for what looks to be another competitive season in every sport.
Washington County Football Coach Tommy Tryon told me he is extremely happy with the way his Tigers have been attacking the weightroom. "...This summer, 8 guys made it to at least 80% of weights and football sessions, which would be 30 or more sessions." Tryon said "That is by far the best attendance I’ve seen in my 3 years of running summer strength and conditioning."

The players understand the importance of these off-season workouts as well, Valley Heights Senior Maggie Toerber told me "We had a lot of participants and saw a lot of personal records at the end of the summer. I think success will definitely translate onto the court/field." Toerber said. "It will be important to not only keep the focus that first week of practice, but we need to attack every practice with high energy and with the goal to get better each day."
It's go time once again in the TVL, the athletes and coaches are excited, here's hoping you are too.
