Gibbs Hits a Pair of Homers in the Same Inning, Centralia Offense Impressive against Blue Valley.

A home run is special, two home runs in one game is impressive, two home runs in the same inning is nearly unheard of but that's exactly what one Tava Gibbs achieved in her team's 14-0 win over Blue Valley late last week. Gibbs hit two 3rd inning home runs were part of a 6 RBI day and was just one of the great feats pulled off by the Lady Panthers in the win.



Centralia scored eight runs in the third inning alone. Gibbs hit a solo home run to left field, Blair Wehling grounded out, scoring one run, Josie Haverkamp homered to left field, scoring two runs, and Gibbs capped off the hit parade with a grand slam to center field.

Centralia Panthers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Hayden Kramer singled to center field, and Claire Heinen grounded out, each scoring one run.

Centralia Panthers added four more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning on five hits. Claire Heinen homered to center field, scoring two runs, Josie Haverkamp drew a walk, scoring one run, and Tava Gibbs singled, scoring another


Blair Wehling earned the win for Centralia. Wehling allowed three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out eight with no walks. Lydia Dumler took the loss for Blue Valley. The pitcher went four innings, allowing 14 runs on 13 hits, striking out one and walking four.


Centralia piled up 13 hits in the game. Blair Wehling threw an immaculate inning in the third, striking out the side on nine pitches. Centralia Panthers didn't commit a single error in the field.



In game 2, Centralia got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after singles from Tatum Kramer and Larissa Schreiner, Shayne Anderson doubled down the left field line, and Bella Hipp singled to center field, each scoring one run.


The Lady Panthers scored five runs on six hits in the bottom of the second inning. An RBI single from Larissa Schreiner and a pair of two run homers from Blair Wehling and Shayne Anderson and the Centralia fans were feeling the love.

Centralia added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Taryn Osterhaus doubled to left field, and Caylie McKee singled to center field, each scoring one run.


Blair Wehling earned the win for Centralia. Wehling allowed five hits and two runs (zero earned) over four innings, striking out four and walking none. Brenna Gibson took the loss for Blue Valley. The pitcher went four innings, allowing 12 runs on 16 hits, striking out seven and walking two.


Centralia collected 16 hits in the game. Mylee Haug, Tatum Kramer, Larissa Schreiner, Shayne Anderson, Bella Hipp, and Caylie McKee each collected two hits for the Lady Panthers. Shayne Anderson went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in and Tatum Kramer stole two of the Centralia bases.


Bralynn Brockman led Blue Valley with two runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The outfielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Kelbi Dettmer, Brynlyn Brockman, Eve Corkill, Brenna Gibson, and Bralynn Brockman each collected one hit for Blue Valley.
