Blue Valley and Centralia split doubleheader

It was offense aplenty in a terrific softball matchup between the Blue Valley Rams and Centralia Panthers.

In game 1, Blue Valley could not hold onto the lead against Centralia Panthers and fell 15-4 despite leading by four at one point.

Blue Valley got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Kelbi Dettmer hit a solo home run to left field add in a Kaylie Carter RBI single and a 2 run double by Mckayla Krause.

Centralia answered back in the top of the second, scoring six runs on six hits to take the lead, 6-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Blair Wehling that drove in twol.

Centralia scored seven runs on six hits in the top of the fourth inning. A Tava Gibbs RBI single, a Malayna Becker 2 run single, Claire Heinen doubled, scoring one run, Hayden Kramer tripled, scoring two runs, and Hayden Kramer scored after tagging up.

Brenna Gibson opened the game for the Lady Rams. The pitcher surrendered 13 hits and 15 runs (10 earned) over five innings, striking out 11 and walking one. Blair Wehling stepped in the circle first for Centralia. The pitcher allowed six hits and four runs over five innings, striking out six and walking none.

Mckayla Krause led Blue Valley with two runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. Krause went 1-for-2 on the day. Kelbi Dettmer, Isabel Wright, Brynlyn Brockman, Brenna Gibson, Mckayla Krause, and Kaylie Carter each collected one hit for Blue Valley.

Centralia earned 13 hits in the game. Malayna Becker provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Panthers with four runs batted in. Becker went 2-for-3 on the day. Hayden Kramer led her team with three hits in three at bats. Claire Heinen and Oen Deters each collected multiple hits for Centralia. Melissa Kramer and Hayden Kramer each stole multiple bases and Centralia tallied eight stolen bases for the game.


In game 2, the Lady Panthers scored six runs in the second inning, which helped them defeat Blue Valley 10-0.

Centralia took the lead in the top of the second inning after Hayden Kramer tripled, scoring two runs, Oen Deters drew a walk which forced in a run, Tessa Parthemer had an RBI single, a wild pitch scored one run, and Malayna Becker hit a sacrifice to notch another run.

and in the 4th inning, Tava Gibbs went yard to score two runs.

Brenna Gibson pitched three innings in relief for Blue Valley. Gibson gave up three hits and two runs while striking out nine and walking none. Lydia Dumler started for Blue Valley. Dumler gave up four hits and eight runs (six earned) over two innings, striking out three and walking four. Tessa Parthemer opened the game for Centralia. The starting pitcher surrendered two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out nine and walking one.
