Blue Valley Baseball team dominates Republic County, grab first wins of season in wild double header.

The Blue Valley Rams, after a promising series against Minneapolis in which they were able to provide strong offense against the Lions, were still looking for their first win of the season as they took on Republic County on April 18th. Once again, the Ram offense was potent and for the first time in 2024 the Rams would pick up not one but two W's against the Buffaloes.

In game 1, Blue Valley would put a 6 spot on the board in the bottom of the first, highlighted by a Trevor Clark bases loaded Triple as well as a Dakota Krause liner with 2 RBI attached. Clark finished with 7 RBI while Krause added 4 total including a 4th inning 2 run home run.

After a big top of the 3rd from Republic County to bring the Ram lead down to just one at 12-11, Blue Valley's offense would reply by exploding for 14 runs. 5 consecutive hits from Clark, Krause , Trace Sump, Aeron Innes, and Brayden Weeks along with multiple walks had suddenly expanded the lead to 26-11 and ending the game with the Rams victorious.

In game 2, the Blue Valley hitters didn't slow down, but this time, the abundance of runs was necessary as Republic County would have better success. After giving up 3 runs in the top of the 1st, Blue Valley would answer back. Landon Schreiber with a 2 run double. Krause would add an RBI knock to Center Field and thanks to some crafty base running, he would score on a passed ball and Blue Valley would gain the lead at 4-3 after 1.

Both teams pitching would settle in for the next couple of innings and it looked like we may have a much lower scoring game than the first. But in the bottom of the 4th, the Blue Valley batters started to square up the ball effectively and maybe the best they had all day. 9 runs in the bottom of the 4th including RBI doubles from Trenton Schwerdt, Trevor Clark and a bases loaded hit by pitch from Dakota pushed the Blue Valley lead to 4 at 15-11. Republic County would continue the hitting barrage with 11 runs over the next two innings to once again take what they thought was a commanding lead. In the bottom of the 6th, in their final chance to retake the lead, Brayden Weeks singled to start the inning, Trevor Clark followed suit before Buffalo pitching started to really fall apart walking 4 straight followed by a Landon Schreiber 2 RBI double to bring the Rams within 1 at 22-21. Weeks would once again come through for Blue Valley as he hit a 2 run single to give the Rams the 23-22 lead, a lead they would not relinquish as Blue Valley would take game 2 27-23.

Blue Valley now, 2-11 on the year, next takes the field tomorrow, April 23rd against St. Mary's
