The Blue Valley softball teams were on the road this past Friday taking on Wabaunsee. Game 1 featured a pair of spectacular pitching performances including, the Lady Rams' Lydia Dumler striking out 9 batters.
Unfortunately, Wabaunsee would manage to get to Dumler late, scoring 3 in the 4th inning and 4 in the 5th and the Blue Valley hitters were held mostly silent by Charger pitching and Blue Valley would fall 7-0 in game 1. Kelby Dettmer was 2 for 3 at the plate to lead the way for Blue Valley but she was the only Lady Ram to reach via hit.
Dumler would take the loss in the circle, giving up all 7 runs and allowing 10 hits.
Game 2 started out positively for Blue Valley as Dettmer doubled and came around to score on a Brenna Gibson liner but once again the Lady Ram pitchers couldn't hold back Wabaunsee, with 4 runs in the 2nd and 3rd inning and 5 more in the 4th, Wabaunsee would complete the sweep, taking game 2 15-2. Gibson would take the loss for the Lady Rams giving up 16 hits over her 4 innings. Now 0-8, Blue Valley next takes the field on April 30th against Onaga.
