Doniphan West's talent on the base paths earns them a split with Troy-Maur Hill

Despite being down early, the Doniphan West girls showed no quit to come back from down four runs in the third inning but ultimately came up just short, falling 8-7 to Troy-Maur Hill.
Doniphan West closed the gap by scoring on a double, a home run by Clara Feighner, a Brennah Edie double, a single from, and a pair of walks. Brennah Edie collected three hits in five at bats in the loss. Brennah Edie doubled in the third inning, Jaidyn Smith singled in the sixth inning and singled in the fourth inning.
Troy-Maur Hill got on the board in the top of the third inning after Olivia Thomas singled, scoring one run, Gracey McConnaughey doubled, scoring two runs, and Jaya Weishaur singled, scoring one run.
Doniphan West made the score 4-3 in the bottom of the third inning when Brennah Edie doubled, scoring one run, and Clara Feighner hit a 2run homer to center field.
D-West tied the game in the bottom of the sixth with a double by Brooklyn Denton, a single by Brennah Edie, and a walk by Delainee Waggoner.
In the top of the eighth inning, Troy-Maur Hill went back into the lead after Mackenna Thomas doubled to left field, and Troy-Maur Hill scored on a passed ball, each scoring one run.
Nicole Wissler earned the win for Troy-Maur Hill allowing four hits and three runs over five innings, striking out four and walking two. Clara Feighner took the loss for D-West. Clara went eight innings, giving up seven runs (five earned) on 11 hits, striking out 13 and walking four.
Overall, the team walked 7 times and stole 4 bases.

In Game 2, Doniphan West won big over Troy-Maur Hill 16-6. Troy-Maur Hill got on the board in the top of the first inning after Olivia Thomas tripled to center field, and Gracey McConnaughey singled to left field, each scoring one run.
The Lady Mustangs took the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the first thanks to singles by Brennah Edie, and Clara Feighner.
Doniphan West added one run in the second after Jaidyn Smith grounded out.
Troy-Maur Hill retook the lead, 5-4, in the top of the fourth after Addison Grable singled to center field, and Emerson Weber singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.
Doniphan West made the score 8-5 in the bottom of the fourth after Brooklyn Denton grounded out, scoring one run, Jaidyn Smith singled, scoring one run, and H’Leigha Idol drew a walk, scoring one run.
Clara Feighner earned the win for Doniphan West. Feighner allowed nine hits and six runs (three earned) over six innings, striking out 12 and walking one. Nicole Wissler took the loss for Troy-Maur Hill. Wissler went one and one-third innings, giving up four runs on four hits, striking out one and walking three. Gracey McConnaughey started in the circle for Troy-Maur Hill. The starting pitcher allowed seven hits and eight runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking four.
The Doniphan West bats continued their trend of big hitting with 12 hits in the game. Brooklyn Rawles, Brennah Edie, H’Leigha Idol, Clara Feighner, and Ella Haynes each collected two hits. Jaidyn Smith led the team with three runs batted in. Doniphan West also had 10 walks in the game. Delainee Waggoner and Alissa Enke led the team with two free passes each. And with 13 total stolen bases the Lady Mustangs created havoc for the opposing defense. Brooklyn Rawles, Brooklyn Denton, Brennah Edie, and Ella Haynes each stole multiple bases for Doniphan West.
