Now with a few games under their belt, the early season rankings took some big ups and downs for some of the teams but the cream of the crop still remains in Northeast Kansas.

In 2A, the Doniphan West girls took a loss to Hiawatha to open their season. D-West responded with a 43-39 over MHMA, and went from number 4 in last week's poll to number 8 this week. Elsewhere, Valley Heights after a 17-point win over Marysville appear just ahead of D-West at number 7. In 1A D-2, Centralia earned a 47-34 win over Nemaha Central and remains in 2nd place but narrowing that gap between themselves a Little River. Centralia can make a big impact tonight as they take on a winless St. Marys Lady Bears team. Unfortunately for the Twin Valley League, the rest of the teams in Division II took big slides this week. Clifton-Clyde, fell to Sacred Heart 59-39 on their home court on Friday night and drop in this week's poll from number 5 to number 10 and the Frankfort girls after a 1-1 week in Nebraska tumble out of the polls. But if I know anything about this Lady Wildcat team it won't be the last time we hear from them.

Finally, In 1A-D1 as both teams remained unscathed, Hanover with 52-35 against Troy and Linn with a pair of wins, one at home against Osborne and a win against Canton-Galva at the Bluebird Invitational in Goessel.
