Lady Buffs earn split with Marysville behind Sauvage's 4 RBI game

Game 1 may not have gone to plan for the Onaga Lady Buffalo softball team as they would fall to Marysville in the early game against the Lady Bulldogs 11-6.

Marysville got on the board in the top of the first inning after Trinity Hager grounded out, and Sarah Nemec singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.

Marysville scored six runs on four hits in the top of the second inning. Bridgett Campbell induced Lindsey Dressman to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Aubrey Dressman singled, scoring one run, S Nemec drew a walk, scoring one run, Paige Siemens singled, scoring two runs, and Grace Turner singled, scoring one run.

Onaga scored five runs on five hits in the bottom of the second inning. Abbie Ringel, Jadyn Haskin and Marissa Sauvage both had RBI singles while Bridgett Campbell doubled, scoring two runs.

Marysville added two runs in the third after Onaga committed an error.


Lindsey Dressman earned the win for Marysville. Dressman allowed seven hits and six runs over seven innings, striking out 13 and walking four. Willow Hochstedler pitched five innings in relief for Onaga. The righty allowed four hits and three runs while, striking out eight and walking three. Bridgett Campbell took the loss for Onaga. Campbell went two innings, giving up eight runs on six hits, striking out three and walking four.

Bridgett Campbell led with two runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Marissa Sauvage, Onaga's number eight hitter, led the team with two hits in three at-bats.


Marysville collected 10 hits in the game. Trinity Hager drove the middle of the lineup, with three RBI. Hager went 2-for-5 on the day. Aubrey Dressman, Trinity Hager, Lindsey Dressman, and Sara Nemec each collected two hits for Marysville in an 11-6 Lady Bulldog win.


In Game 2, Onaga's Marissa Sauvage drove in four runs on two hits to lead Onaga past Marysville 10-2. Sauvage singled in the second inning, scoring two runs, and singled in the third inning, scoring two.

Bridgett Campbell struck out 11 batters on the day. The righty also surrendered five hits and two runs over seven innings while walking one.

Marysville were the first to get on the board in the first when Lindsey Dressman scored after a leadoff triple

Onaga jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Sauvage singled to center field, and MaKenzie Dorsey grounded out, each scoring two runs.

Onaga added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning when Sauvage singled, scoring two runs, and Ember Conger tripled, scoring one run.

Micaiah Urban took the loss for Marysville. The pitcher went three and one-third innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on six hits, striking out one and walking two. Trinity Hager began the game giving up seven hits and seven runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one.

Onaga collected 13 hits in the game. Ember Conger and Annie Force each with three. Willow Hochstedler was also 2 for 4 on the day.
